Kolhapur, 28th January 2025 – The Vice Chancellor of Shivaji University, Hon. Dr. D.T. Shirke, congratulated and appreciated the women’s rugby team for winning the gold medal at the All India Inter-University Women’s Rugby Championship. Among the players present were four female athletes from Bhogawati Mahavidyalaya, Kurukali – Kumari Neha Patil, Kumari Prachi Patade, Kumari Mayuri Kadam, and Kumari Pooja Lad.
Dr. Shirke congratulated these athletes for their outstanding performance and also praised the coaches who guided them, namely Prof. Amar Sasane, International Coach Mr. Deepak Patil, and Prof. Rahul Lahane. He acknowledged the invaluable guidance provided by these mentors, which contributed to the success of the players.
Additionally, Dr. Shirke discussed the need for the creation of a separate rugby ground, expressing optimism about providing better opportunities for future athletes.
Dr. Shirke expressed his desire for Shivaji University and Bhogawati Mahavidyalaya to continue fostering a motivating environment for sports and encourage more achievements for the students in the future.
शिवाजी विद्यापीठाचे कुलगुरू माननीय प्रा. डॉ. डी टी शिर्के यांचे महिला रग्बी संघाचे कौतुक
कोल्हापूर, २८ जानेवारी २०२५ – शिवाजी विद्यापीठाचे कुलगुरू माननीय प्रा. डॉ. डी टी शिर्के यांनी अखिल भारतीय अंतर विद्यापीठ महिला रग्बी स्पर्धेमध्ये सुवर्णपदक प्राप्त करणाऱ्या संघाचे कौतुक व अभिनंदन केले. यामध्ये भोगावती महाविद्यालय, कुरुकलीच्या चार महिला खेळाडू – कु. नेहा पाटील, कु. प्राची पताडे, कुमारी मयुरी कदम, कुमारी पूजा लाड – उपस्थित होत्या.
प्रा. डॉ. शिर्के यांनी या खेळाडूंना त्यांच्या उत्कृष्ट कामगिरीसाठी शुभेच्छा दिल्या आणि त्यांना मार्गदर्शन करणाऱ्या प्रा. अमर सासणे, आंतरराष्ट्रीय प्रशिक्षक श्री. दीपक पाटील आणि प्रा. राहुल लहाने यांचेही कौतुक केले. त्यांनी या प्रशिक्षकांच्या मेहनतीमुळेच या खेळाडूंना तंत्र आणि मनोबल मिळाल्याचे सांगितले.
यावेळी प्रा. डॉ. शिर्के यांनी रग्बी खेळासाठी स्वतंत्र ग्राउंड तयार करण्याच्या संदर्भात सकारात्मक चर्चा केली आणि भविष्यकाळात खेळाडूंना अधिक उज्ज्वल संधी देण्याच्या दृष्टीने सहकार्याची हमी दिली.
भविष्यात अधिक यश मिळवण्यासाठी शिवाजी विद्यापीठाचे व भोगावती महाविद्यालयाचे प्रत्येक क्रीडाशास्त्र विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी आशा आणि प्रेरणा वर्धक वातावरण असावे, अशी भावना त्यांनी व्यक्त केली.
